EasyShoe Versa Grip Octo - Pair

Thrilled with the new Octo. We have a 20 year old 16.2 appendix mare who has thousands of trail miles. Although very sound, she no longer would tolerate hammering on her front hooves. We fitted her out with Octos and did most of the work with her standing in the shoes. They fit her great. We glued the tabs...then glued around the edges. She went out for her first 7 miles trail ride and we are extremely happy with them. We noticed immediately her stride has lengthened significntly. Just hope we can get them off in 7 weeks

Over the years Ive become dissatisfied with the concussive properties in steel shoes. The flex , ease of application and benefits of support have me optimistic on outcome for my young horse!

This is our first use of glue on shoes. We have a 20 year old beautiful 16.2 appendix mare that has thousands of trail miles on her. 2 years ago, she refused to have shoes nailed on and was ridden in boots. Didnt have a lot of success with boots. We opted for the Versa Grip Octo and it was the first time in 2 years we watched her trot off in complete comfort. Our farrier had no problem fitting these on and setting the glue. Gluing down some of the tabs on the side of the hoof was a bit of a challenge due to our cold weather, but we finally got them glued with the use of a heat gun. It was the first time I was gluing shoes. Overall it was a good one. Before buying I've wrote directly to Easycare to help me choose the right size after mesuring my mare's hoofs. Horse Gear Canada is the only retailer I've found, it was long to have my stuff but exactly what they said : 2 weeks for a special order + 1 few days to ship to my home (Quebec). During the waiting I've watch again a lot of videos about the process. The next day after getting my order, I've applied 4 Versa Grip Octo with the Easycare superglue and the plastic wrap and some electrical tape for a few hours. 2 weeks later 3 shoes are again well glued but the 4th is a little more trouble with 2 tabs ungluing for the second time !
More prep need next time on that hoof.
Those shoes are a good choice for a first experience, and the website help make choices with all the product descriptions.
